Agriculture in UAE Market Analysis:

The anticipated expansion of the UAE Agriculture Market is projected to increase from USD 3.17 billion in 2023 to USD 3.92 billion by 2028, with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.34% during the forecast period (2023–2028).

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) boasts a highly promising agriculture market in the GCC region, with a high per capita food consumption. While the country’s cereal production is moderately high, it is not yet fully self-sufficient in terms of agriculture production, and thus remains dependent on cereal imports. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UAE’s cereal production in 2020 was a mere 15,978 Metric ton, while fruit production amounted to 361,471 Metric ton, and vegetable production stood at 233,009 Metric ton in the same year.

Moreover, the organic farming area in the country has increased by 15% from 4,687 hectares in 2017 to 5,419 hectares in 2020, according to FiBL Statistics (Research Institute of Organic Agriculture). This growth is attributed to the government’s support and the increasing demand for organic products, which is one of the reasons for the development of the agriculture sector in the country. With the government prioritizing the production of fruits and vegetables, production is showing positive growth. Additionally, hydroponics is emerging in this region, as the process requires less water and no land or soil. All these factors are driving the growth of agriculture in the United Arab Emirates.
